Who really speaks out against the wrongs of the criminal Justice system? ?

I cannot name you one journalist or newspaper who really hits out at cases like the Menendez ination,or other deaths by the police or serious cases of miscarriages of justice.Many of the so called maverick investigative journalists are really part of the system they apparently speak out against,with well paid jobs for national newspapers and are in my opinion politically safe.Ive seen it even on Yahoo Answers were the middle cl rebels will hide behind a keyboard and first time a copper gives an answer and shows interest in them they are like little kids giving out 10 points to their masters!My question is in a free speech democracy why has no one ever got the backbone to expose the abuse by the police of the poorer cles.so called'Undercl'and the frequent killings and beatings of the poorest in society?
