Hi my ex partner has been declared bancrupt and the trustee want to sell our house can they without my say so?

Neither of us live at the house but I am currently renting it out to a family member and the mortgage repayments are up to date. I am very angry as I have only just become aware of this after receiving a letter from the trustee advising me that they are going to sell the house to get the money owed to them. Can they do this??? We have a daughter and I saw this house as an investment or future nest egg for her. I called the solicitor dealing and they asked me if I was in a position to pay the trustee my ex partners debt which I am not. I don;t want to sell the house, do I not have a choice?
