Do music artists today have the popularity like the late 90s pop acts did? Ex: Britney, BSB, N'sync, Christina?

What I mean is, do you remember how everyone was in love with Britney when she first came out and all the teen girls would go crazy over the Backstreet Boys? I'm talking about that type of popularity. Is there any music artists out today that have that type of popularity that rivaled Brit's and BSB's.
